Questions about proposed Ten Commandment display in Tennessee county justice center E-mail

A Wisconsin-based organization is questioning the separation of church and state following a proposal by a Hawkins County judge to display the Ten Commandments in their new justice center.

Judge James "Jay" Taylor said he wants to cover a blank wall in the center with three plaques, one of those being the Ten Commandments.  He said he's following precedent from another court case in Kentucky with similar circumstances.

"I noticed that in most courthouses there is a 10 Commandments-type display," said Judge Taylor. "There's either a plaque of the 10 Commandments or a Foundations Display."
